Product description

This bit features three ring cheeks, a noseband and chin strap. The mouthpiece is a Myler MB 41PB correction ported barrel. This is a Myler level 2-3 bit.

The MB 41PB is a truly unique Myler mouthpiece. This mouthpiece is a correctional mouthpiece, a ported mouthpiece that collapses onto the outer lip and bars and rotates onto the tongue. The port has a tiered design; the base is generously wide with rounded corners, offering virtually the same comfort and tongue relief of a Level 3 mouthpiece, while the top is narrower and has pronounced corners. If the horse is relaxed, the tongue can pass comfortably under the wide opening. When the reins are engaged, the mouthpiece collapses onto the bars and lips and rotates onto the tongue. The pronounced corners of the port apply two points of pressure on the tongue for increased control. The result is a mouthpiece that offers maximum tongue relief for the horse but very good control for the rider. The unique design and the generous tongue relief of the MB 41PB make it the only correctional that can be used long-term, possibly even as a horses finishing bit. Sweet iron mouthpiece oxidizes and encourages salivation.

The 6" stainless steel 3-ring combination bit is a hybrid of a ring bit, shank bit, and hackamore and uses five different pressure points to disperse rein pressure. Because the noseband and chin strap are connected through the purchase, when the reins are engaged, the horse first feels nose, chin, and poll pressure before he feels the mouthpiece. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before reaching a stop, where it will then engage and apply pressure. The purpose is to give the horse an opportunity to respond to the riders rein signals before applying mouthpiece pressure. The combination bit has an Independent Swivel Cheek, and the purchase is slightly angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. The noseband is flat leather with a knotted cord on either side, and the chin strap is synthetic to avoid stretching over time.
